Exclusive interview with the one and only Gena Showalter

I'm squealing with delight today as I have an exclusive mini interview with the totally awesome bestselling author Gena Showalter!!

Hi Gena! Its such a pleasure to have you on Fiction Dreams today. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit.

GS: Thanks for having me over!

1. You write in several different genres: Paranormal Romance, Young Adult and Contemporary Romance. Do you have a favourite?
GS: I tend to enjoy whatever I’m working on at the time. The characters come alive for me, and the sittings and scenes are vivid in my mind. For that reason, I’m enjoying both paranormal romance and young adult. I just finished revisions for Burning Dawn (Angels of the Dark) and was reminded of just how sexy I find the hero (he is merciless and fierce, yet he’s putty in the heroine’s hands.) Talk about sizzling chemistry! But I also just finished the rough draft for the third White Rabbit Chronicles novel (no official title right now), and had so much fun with the gang of slayers determined to eradicate spirit-eating zombies. Not to mention Cole Holland. He goes full throttle on the seduction.

2. When I first read your Atlantis series, I blushed throughout (my sister called me a prude - but it's probably because I was reading so many kids books at the time!), do you find sex scenes difficult to write?
GS: I thought of them as any other scene. A way to show character development, to move the plot forward, and to basically just complicate the crap out of the hero and heroine’s life LOL

3. Which of your books would you most like to see made into a movie? Who would you cast?

GS: I would love to see the White Rabbit Chronicles made into a movie. I think it’d be super cool to see the spirits of the slayers step out of their bodies to fight the zombies. I think Alex Pettyfer would make a great Cole – I know he no longer looks like he’s in high school, but wow, he’s hot and intense. I think Lilly Collins would make an excellent Alice. (though in my mind, Alice looks like Taylor Swift)

4. What are you working on at the moment?
GS: I’m about to dive back into the third White Rabbit Chronicles book and fix the rough draft. I’m excited! It’s going to be fun, and I’m expecting the words to flow as easily and sweetly as water.

5. Who would play you in the movie about your life?

GS: Zooey Deschanel. I know I don’t look like her (dang it) but I like her style. She makes me smile.

Thank you so much, Gena. It's been such an honour!
