I’m cursed. Yes, cursed and this isn’t some paranormal fantasy. This is my real life. Karma has decided to last out on me. I’ll never find my true love and I’m learning to accept that. The only problem is; he isn’t. He’s starting a war with karma and everyone knows karma always fights back with a vengeance.
Gabby Taylor is screwed. On her first day at her new internship, she runs into the guy she’s been fighting to avoid. The one guy whose family despises her and she drunkenly gave her virginity away to. And he’s her new co-worker.
She is messing up everything Dalton Douglas has planned. She climbed her way into his thoughts, thrown her bags down and he could’t manage to evict her- even if it cost him everything he’s been
working his ass off for. The only problem is: she’s fighting him. He will fight to keep her but can he manage to hide his own secrets that would ruin everything between them?

Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
Karma is a NA novel about Gabby, who truly believes she’s cursed against love. When she decides to take a year off from school, she’s forced to intern for her step-father’s PR company, and working with people who despise her. On her first day, she runs into Dalton Douglas, the one guy she never wanted to see again. The guy she’d drunkenly given her virginity away to.
Dawson is just as shocked to see her. He has been working his ass off to run his father’s company but when Gabby stumbles into his life everything is changing. She’d took her bags, threw them done, and he doesn’t the strength to evict her. But he has his own secrets that would destroy her and make love even harder for her to believe in.
What inspired you to write it?
Gabby was a friend of my MC, Daisy, in my debut novel, Beneath Our Faults. While I was writing Daisy’s story, I fell in love with Gabby. I knew she needed her own story.
How did you come up with the idea for the cover?
Since the title was Karma, I wanted something that looked scandalous. I’ve had people say it looks like a poster for a show series, which is what I was going for.
If it was made into a movie, who would you like to play the main characters?Emma Stone would be perfect for Gabby and Chase Crawford as Dalton.
What is it about this genre that appeals to you so much?
My favorite thing about the YA/NA genre is that my characters are going through their firsts. They’re experiencing their first loves, losses, real relationships, etc. They’re taking that jump into the real life and that’s when you truly find out who you are.
What made you want to become an author?
I’ve loved reading for as long as I can remember. Writing has always been my escape and I’ve always said “when I get older, I’m going to write a book.” But then I asked myself why I was waiting? Why did I have to wait until I was a certain age to release a book. So I did it and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
How do you come up with character names?
I don’t have a process or list. They just come to me as I plan my story.
Name one of your all-time favourite books?
Oh, geez it’s hard to narrow it down to one. I’d say the Great Gatsby. I could read that book over and over again.
Who, or what, inspires you?Jk Rowling is definitely one of my biggest inspirations.
Where is your favourite place to write?
I enjoy writing at home. I like to be relaxed while I’m writing.
What is your favourite movie that was based on a book?
Water for Elephants
Name two of your favourite authors.
JK Rowling and Sarah Dessen. Those are the authors I grew up reading and truly gave me a love for it.
If you could have a dinner party with any authors from any time in history, who would you choose and why?
Steven King, he’s a creative genius.
Tell us a random fact about yourself.
I’m told I’m a terrible driver.
Who would play you in the movie about your life?
Rachel Bilson.
Tell us an interesting fact about where you live.
I live in the racing capitol of the United States.
What are your (writing) plans for the future?
I’m working on a novel right now that’s due to be released in November. It’s Tessa’s story from Beneath Our Faults.
Tell us one thing that's on your bucket list.I want to travel to Egypt.
Favourite myth / fairytale?
Rumpelstiltzkin
Who did you want to be when you were a kid?
A Spice Girl. Oh gosh, that’s embarrassing.

Seeing characters go through their firsts is one of the big reasons I love to read YA/NA. When it's done well you can really feel the excitement and newness with the characters. Great interview! :)
