Being a Dreamer…
I grew up on a household filled with drama. My origins were not revealed to me back then, but I didn’t meet my father until a later age. I lived for the first nine years of my life with my mother, my grandmother, a cousin and an aunt. Uncles and aunts came and went staying through certain periods and the fights between my grandmother and any or all her children were… like any other crazy household of course. With a full blown daily drama I liked to read books or make up stories. Dream of a different life, one where adults took care of children and… things were different. That was the beginning of me being a dreamer.
Being a dreamer involves many aspects in life, envisioning a different outcome, a better future or what your heart desires. Ever since I was growing up I have try to chase the ideal life. Crazy of course, as there’s no such thing as ideal, but at least better. That of course it doesn’t mean that I don’t accept reality, only that there are times I rather be in Maui than in the middle of a boring meeting. I of course taught my mind to multitask, making it possible for me to daydream and get my school work, tests, studying, work, household duties and so on daily tasks.
The coolest thing about being a dreamer, it gives me some tools to make up stories.
Of course from dreaming my life in certain way, I moved on to different people who, circumstances and why not planets. Dreaming is one of the tools that helps me imagining different scenarios, outcomes and characters as I make up plots. What if that person had lived, what would her life would be like? What if instead of taking the job in Minneapolis she had stayed behind and met such and such … I can be at times a romantic dreamer, a sci-fi dreamer, a paranormal dreamer all of those have a couple of things in common: My passion for the unknown and the want to make it better. Of course those dreams at times become inspiration, desires, ideas, and plans; at the end, among all those dreams I make sure I do.

Him
…I need time. Time to heal those wings and learn to use them…
Was part of the letter Rebecca Trent, Daniel Brightmore’s fiancĂ©e and best friend left when she ran away. The person he trusted the most for the past decade disappeared without giving him a second glance. She taught him how to love, believe in family and that everyone deserves a happily ever after. Now he’s struggling between wiping any traces of her from his life and drowning his sorrows away with the help of his new best friends—Don Julio and Jack Daniels.

Her
Rebecca’s past suffocated her to the point of not wanting to continue, her lifeline and the only reason to live began to withdraw from her. She wished it had been her imagination, but heard it loud and clear: “If not, there’s always a divorce, nothing is forever.” This time it became a leave or die situation. Something has got to change—she had to change. Packing light and leaving a letter behind, she takes a journey that can help her find herself through the shards of her painful childhood.
As letters, memories and stories are exchanged, two once inseparable people reconcile what’s left of their relationship. Beyond the confines of everything they built together, they’re left with two lonely people searching for what it means to be whole. Will they find meaning under their bruised psyches or will their pasts get the better of them?

  1. Wow it sounds like you had a drama-filled past, but something like that is often what makes a writer have such great ideas and a creative nature. The need to escape reality for just a moment is why many write - and read! I also love to learn how an author decided they wanted to write stories. :) Great post, ladies!
