A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood.
She is kidnapped to an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine.
An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains.
Sofia's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is the one selected out of hundreds of girls to join the harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal Prince.
Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night.
Will she succeed? ...or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?
A Shade of Vampire by Bella Forrest
I read about how these books in this
series have been hopping off the virtual shelves so I figured I'd get
the first one (it was free) and give it a go. Usually I love vampire
books but I just found this one to be a little out there. The whole
idea of all these vamps living on an island that was protected by a
witch's spell was a bit weird and then their modern houses being
built several hundred feet up trees was even weirder. Maybe I just
like my vampires to live in the real world (yes, I actually said that
lol). I also found it difficult to connect with 17 year old Sofia who
seemed far older than her years, both in her actions and the way she
spoke. But having said all that, the writing was very good and I was
eager to find out what happened. It was very easy to read, and, being
a short one, I finished it in only a few hours.
