It was then that I noticed the bright pink phone case right there amongst the beer cans on the table.
I gasped. Oh Jesus!
All of our explicit messages to each other – and there were many – were still on the phone. I had taken naked photos of Matt in the shower. I had footage of Matt giving me oral sex from start to finish. It couldn’t get any worse.
Adam watched me as I furiously tried to catalogue what other horrors could be on the phone.
‘So, was he right, in those texts he sent you before he found you and shoved his face between your legs?’ Adam asked, his voice strained. ‘Was he right? Did you do what he said you’d do?’
‘Did I do what?’ I croaked.
He was silent for a minute, before he spoke in a rasp. ‘Did you cry when he fucked you?’
I shut my eyes.
