The List. That Signified Finality.
Hi Taylor! Do dreams ever inspire your writing? What did you last dream about?
Dreams don’t really inspire my writing, however, most of my ideas come right as I’m falling asleep. There’s been so many instances when I’ve had to jump out of bed and get the idea on paper.
Oh my, the last thing I dreamt about was odd, even for me. I was on some sort of Dancing With the Stars competition. During our lunch break I broke out into “You’re the one that I want” from the film Grease. The strange part was that I was even dressed as Sandy. My dancing partner proclaimed love after my solo was over. Yeah, it was super weird. Must’ve been the blueberry pop tarts I’d eaten before bed.
When did you first start writing? And when were you first published?
I began writing in 2012. I self-published until January 2014. I was offered a spot on the roster at Booktrope Publishing.
What is it about the genre you write that appeals to you the most? Do you read other genres?
I think there’s one word that can describe the Fantasy Genre…Limitless. With fantasy the lines are not black and white. The story lives within the grey areas in between. The sky is literally the limit.
Funny thing is that I read mostly romance. I love a steamy story with sexy guys and happy endings (no pun intended)
Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
Saving London was one of those books that came to me right as I began to fall asleep. I laid there thinking “what would I do if I was told I only had a certain amount of time to live”? That premise was what the story was built on. But I didn’t want a depressing story about death. I wanted something positive and uplifting for my readers.
What inspired you to write it?
My own bucket list inspired Saving London. In fact there are several of London’s bucket list items that are the same as mine.

The Journey. That Would Span The Globe.
The Sacrifice. That Would Decide The Outcome.
The Choice. That Could Unleash Evil On Earth.
The End Is Only The Beginning…
“You have terminal cancer.”
London Patterson, a seemingly healthy young woman, had her entire life ahead of her. That was until four little words brought everything to a screeching halt. As the shock and grief begin to fade, London decides to map out her last year and embark on an epic journey to complete a bucket list. She wants to do the things she’s been afraid to do in her life, step out of her self-contained box, and see the world. What she didn’t expect was for a mysterious stranger named Adam to breeze into her life like a breath of fresh air.
Adam offers to help London complete her list on one condition…that she sees it through to the end. Agreeing on those terms, the two set out on an adventure of a lifetime. But London soon realizes that Adam isn’t quite…human. Along their journey odd occurrences happen that cause London to question who or what Adam is and why he’s helping her.

Who designs your covers?
I have an amazing designer, Scott Deyett of InHouse Designs. Scott is able to take silly ideas of mine and turn them into beautiful eye catching covers.
If your latest book was made into a film, who would you cast?
There’re so many great actors and actresses out there but my ideal cast would have to be:
London: Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect)
Adam: Torrance Coombs (Reign)
Caine: Joe Manganiello (True Blood)
Lilly: Blake Lively (Gossip Girl)
What's your favourite book that made it to the big screen?
The Divergent Series by Veronica Roth
What were the last two books you read?
I’m going to be honest and say I really can’t remember. I’ve been writing so much lately that I haven’t had the time to read.
Name one female author you think deserves to be better known.
One of my personal favorites is Codi Gary. Codi writes steamy romance and is such a kind person.
Where do you write?
I have a recliner in my living room that I write in.
Tell us a random fact about yourself.
My husband and I married each other twice. We divorced before and remarried.
Who would play you in the movie about your life?

Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls)
Tell us an interesting fact about where you live.
I live right on the Trail of Tears in Southern Ilinois. We find tons of arrowheads and Indian pottery pieces on our property.
What are your (writing) plans for the future?
Oh gosh. I suppose my plans are to just write more books.
Tell us one thing that's on your bucket list.
To fly a small plane.
Name one of your all time favourite songs.
We Didn’t Start the Fire-Billy Joel
What do you listen to whilst writing?
I’m super weird in my writing music. I listen to Rammstien, Eisbrecher and Apocalyptica. There’s a reason for this…most of their songs are in German and I don’t speak German. So therefore I don’t want to sing along. It’s less distracting this way.

I wanted to be a stand up comic and a writer(clearly I’m still working on the comic thing)
Taylor Dawn began writing as an item to check off her bucket list. After putting words on paper, she decided that being an author was where she needed to be. She resides on a farm in southern Illinois with her husband, son and a plethora of animals. Taylor is a huge kid at heart. She loves playing practical jokes, challenging her son to a game of Super Mario and rarely rolls out of bed before noon. She enjoys dancing, is perpetually clumsy and has a horrible green thumb. Taylor believes that if you work hard, you must play even harder. To learn more, visit her at:
