*Warning* Strong language and sexual situations. Ends in MAJOR cliffhanger. Not for the faint of heart.

Beautiful heiress Dalilah Gallagher, a former child art prodigy, has lost her way. Harsh criticism in her formative years has left her floundering and without the artistic voice that once centered her life. Now, at the age of 20, she has spent the last nine years trying to reclaim what she lost.
Her struggles lead her to the nude-modeling world in New York City, where she hopes she will find her passion for art again. What she finds is surprising: Her artistic voice isn’t gone, merely misplaced.
Luke Roberts has a different problem. Raised by a solid, working-class fisherman in Maine, Luke is a gifted artist struggling to get a foothold in the busy New York City art scene. His gifts attract the attention of a wealthy benefactor, Blake Nottingham, who finds himself fascinated with Dalilah. Nottingham commissions Luke to provide him with a piece of art: A painting of Dalilah.
As the two young artists fall in love, Dalilah finds her artistic voice once more, so she’ll do anything to help Luke find the prominence he deserves. This leads to a dangerous game of deceit that puts Dalilah in Nottingham’s clutches when she tries to manipulate him into helping Luke.
Nottingham isn’t easily manipulated, though, and things go seriously awry for Dalilah. What happens when the manipulated becomes the manipulator?
This is a New Adult Contemporary Romance. Age groups are 18+. It has some sexually explicit scenes.

Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is the Exposure series, but this book is the Fearless series. It’s about a lonely genius woman, Dalilah, who seems to have it all, yet is very empty inside. The man who brings her out of it, Luke, is a wildly talented, cool, laid-back artist who is a bit of a bad boy. That said, I would love to find a guy like Luke!

What inspired you to write it?
Dalilah was a character in my previous books, but she was a small child in those books. I wanted to explore what it might be like to grow up wealthy, beautiful and with an off-the-charts IQ, yet not be able to relate to most people. I would imagine that would be isolating, so that’s what I went with on this.

How did you come up with the idea for the cover?
Well, the novel is New Adult romance, and I have to say, the models on my cover fit the characters perfectly.

If it was made into a movie, who would you like to play the main characters?
Jared Padelecki, but younger, would be the perfect Luke. His character on Supernatural is Luke all the way - sensitive, intelligent, with a bit of a bad-ass side. A younger Emma Stone would be Dalilah. Sorry, I don’t know the really young actors and actresses, so I have to go with the ones that I know, but they’re all just a bit older than the roles.

Is it part of a series or is it a stand-alone novel?
It’s the first book of a three book trilogy.

Where is the novel set and why did you choose to set it there?
New York City, because it takes place in the art world, and that is pretty much the epicenter for that.

What is it about this genre that appeals to you so much?
I like to explore the angst of people at that age. I remember well how I was when I was that age, and I like to inject some of myself into the novels.

What made you want to become an author?
I always loved to write, and I just sat down one day, and decided to write a story. I just never stopped.

How do you come up with character names?
They just come to me. But Dalilah came from the song Hey There Dalilah, which is the song that was constantly playing when I met my current boyfriend - that song was “our song” so I wanted to name a character Dalilah.

Name one of your all-time favourite books?
The Thornbirds. It’s literally epic, and the romance in that one just captured me. Talk about a tragic love story!

Who, or what, inspires you?
I have a muse, but, really, I don’t really know. I just sit down in front of the keyboard, and the story tells itself.

Where is your favourite place to write?
By the beach, watching the sea lions play.

What is your favourite movie that was based on a book?
Gone Girl.

Tell us a random fact about you.
A random fact about me. I don’t think that I’ve missed a single episode of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette since the start of the series way back in 2003. That makes me a dork, I know, but I so dig that show.

Who would play you in the movie about your life?
Renee Zellweger.

Tell us an interesting fact about where you live.
You can go to the beach and literally hang out with sea lions and seals. You can get close enough to touch them, although I wouldn’t suggest trying to do that. I love them so much.

What are your (writing) plans for the future?
Keep writing novels, although I might branch out more and more into the thriller categories, with less sex. Sorry about that! :)

Tell us one thing that's on your bucket list.
To fly in a hot-air balloon or bike around New Zealand.

Favourite myth / fairytale?
Beauty and the Beast. Loved how Belle fell for the beast. She was a great heroine.

Who/What did you want to be when you were a kid?
A writer. :)

Annie Jocoby is the author of 8 contemporary romance novels and 3 New Adult contemporary romance novels. Her motivation to begin writing these novels is that she was interested in writing about rich men who actually love and respect their women. Her heroes are alpha and damaged, yet also genuinely good guys.
Ryan, Nick, Luke and Asher are all complicated characters who have experienced plenty of darkness, yet always seek the light. They would all go to the ends of the earth to protect the women they love. And they’re all sexy, enigmatic, magnetic and great in bed.
All of Annie’s books have things in common: they all combine a touch of mystery and intrigue with drama, love, and lots of hot sex. Some of the books have action and even some criminal elements in them. Her current book, in fact, is her first book that would be classified as straight romantic suspense, although it also combines definite elements of the thriller genre! If you’re in the market for a book that is fast-paced, where the heroes are beautiful and wealthy, and the heroines are strong, vulnerable and flawed, then try these books out!
