Taking the Ice is the third and final book in the Ice series. Courtney and Josh are fighting to make the Olympic team, and Courtney is also hoping for another milestone to happen soon – a proposal from Josh.

Once Courtney and Josh paired up, I wanted to see their journey through to the end of their skating career and also to show how they’ve grown as a couple. I hope readers will find this to be a satisfying conclusion to their story!
How did you come up with the idea for the cover?
How did you come up with the idea for the cover?
I knew I wanted a pair posing on the cover, so I asked pair skaters Alex Shaughnessy and Jimmy Morgan if they could pose again for me (their feet are on the first book in the series). I looked at photos of skaters to come up with ideas for poses, and I found one of Meryl Davis and Charlie White that I loved. Alex and Jimmy replicated the pose for a photo, and then my cover artist Sarah Schneider worked her magic!

I would love to see Anna Sophia Robb as Courtney and Logan Lerman as Josh. I think they fit the characters looks and personalities perfectly!

Much of the book takes place in Boston because the national championships (the Olympic trials) were held there in 2014. The characters live on Cape Cod, so it’s considered a home event for them.
What is it about this genre that appeals to you so much?

I love writing sports romance because along with the excitement of the characters falling in love and dealing with relationship obstacles, there’s also the thrill of competition and the suspense of whether the characters will reach their goals.
What made you want to become an author?

I’ve been writing stories since I was a kid, and I always dreamed of having a book published. When I got the idea for a skating romance, I just wanted to put it out there for other skating fans to read, and that led me to getting the story published.
How do you come up with character names?

The main characters are usually names I’ve always liked. For the secondary characters, I often use names of friends, and I brainstorm the rest with my plotting buddy. Last week we were in a seminar together and we looked at the list of attendees and came up with a name!

Jennifer Comeaux is a tax accountant by day, writer by night. There aren’t any ice rinks near her home in south Louisiana, but she’s a die-hard figure skating fan and loves to write stories of romance set in the world of competitive skating. One of her favorite pastimes is traveling to competitions, where she can experience all the glitz and drama that inspire her writing.
