She Can't Forget Him…
Jane Charlotte Danes has loved the squire of her idyllic country town for as long as she can remember. He is good, kind, and alluring beyond words… and he chose to marry another. Tired of dwelling on her futile longings, Jane plans a move to Bath, where she dreams of a new beginning. But the man who has so imprisoned her heart is only a few steps behind…
He Can't Let Her Go…
Until now, Matthew Cleaves has endeavoured to meet the responsibilities of his position with dignity and good spirits--including his dutiful marriage. But when his wife leaves him for another man, Matthew is at last free to pursue his one true love. Only one vital question remains: will the captivating, stubborn, beautiful Jane allow him the challenge, and the pleasure, of winning her back?

Do dreams ever inspire your writing? What did you last dream about?
I don’t seem to remember my dreams very often, which is incredibly annoying as a lot of authors use their nocturnal inspiration! Last dream I can remember is frantically looking for my black Lab who I lost last February… ☹
When did you first start writing? And when were you first published?
I started writing short stories in 2005 and had a little success online. The Wild Rose Press published my first novel in 2007 (Searching For Sophie).
What is it about the genre you write that appeals to you the most? Do you read other genres?
I am lucky enough to write contemporary romance and romantic suspense for Harlequin Superromance and Victorian romance for eKensington/Lyrical Press. I read all sub-genres of romance (except paranormal) as well as crime and historical fiction featuring past British monarchs.
Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
Her One True Love is my fourth Victorian romance and revolves around Jane Charlotte Danes and village squire, Matthew Cleaves. It is set in Biddestone and Bath and is about both characters realising their destinies…
What inspired you to write it?
Jane! She was a secondary character in my previous Victorian romance, What A Woman Desires and every time she was on the page, the more I knew she needed her own story. Both What A Woman Desires and Her One True Love can be read stand-alone so no worries if you haven’t read the previous book.
Have you ever spotted anyone reading your books anywhere?
No, but I’d love too! Can imagine that I’d have to approach them and tell them they’ve made my day, lol!
Who designs your covers?
I don’t know who designs my covers but I’d love to shake their hand – I am SO happy with my covers!
If your latest book was made into a film, who would you cast?
This is an easy question for me to answer as I start each book trawling the Internet for images of my hero and heroine – Jane would be played by Poppy Drayton and Matthew by Richard Armitage.
What's your favourite book that made it to the big screen?
Ooh, so many but I’d have to say Forrest Gump or Message In A Bottle
What were the last two books you read?
Black Rose by Nora Roberts (my favourite romance author) and Dragonfly In Amber by Diana Galbaldon (loving the Outlander series!)
Name one female author who you think deserves to be better known.
A J Nuest – she writes the most fabulous fantasy romance and romantic suspense books. Highly recommended!
Where do you write?
I am lucky enough to have my own office in a spare bedroom of the house – I have a huge white desk that holds my computer, trays, files & printer. The walls are painted a pale blue, which is supposed to be good for concentration, and I have bookshelves bursting with fiction and non-fiction books. It’s my happy place!
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? And did you follow the dream?
I followed my dream…eventually. I’ve always wanted to be an author but worked in a bank for 10 years before leaving to have my daughters. I was a stay at home mum until my youngest started school full-time and then I had a ‘now or never’ moment and started on my dream job. The rest is history.
In the movie of your life, who would play you?
With all my dark, curly hair, I’d have to say Andie MacDowell!
Speed Round...
Top drink to make you tipsy? White wine
Shopaholic or shopadon't? Shopadon’t
Sky high heels or closer to the ground? Closer to the ground usually…but I do love wearing heels on occasion!
E.L. James or Jilly Cooper? Jilly Cooper
Cry baby or tough cookie? Bit of both!
Exotic beach or enchanted forest? Exotic beach
