Billionaire Cowboys, Book 1
Author: Kristina Knight
Miranda Clayton wants respect. Lying to get that respect wasn't her first choice, but now she's hip-deep in lies to her boss, her family, and her friends. Connor Reeves knows all about Miranda's lies, but there is something about her that makes him think there may be more to Miranda than anyone else knows. The question is whether that something more is worth the risk to his business, his family...and his heart.

What the Heiress Wants is the second in my Billionaire Cowboys trilogy...it has some corporate spying, a little lying, but no crying!
What inspired you to write it?
What inspired you to write it?
The characters came first for this one, absolutely! I've been wanting to write a falling-for-your-boss story, but I didn't want it to be the typical secretary/boss book, so when Miranda starting talking to me, I knew she was the one!
How did you come up with the idea for the cover?
How did you come up with the idea for the cover?
The fab designers at Crimson Romance came up with it - I'd found a couple of Vegas-y type images that I thought fit the vibe of the book and they took it from there.
If it was made into a movie, who would you like to play the main characters?
If it was made into a movie, who would you like to play the main characters?
I'd pray Ryan Gosling was available to play Connor and that Emma Stone could be Miranda, because I love their on-screen chemistry!

Where is the novel set and why did you choose to set it there?
Where is the novel set and why did you choose to set it there?
I set the series in Las Vegas because I absolutely adore that area! The glitz and glam of the casinos are definitely part of it, but the desert is an even bigger part. It's just gorgeous!
What is it about this genre that appeals to you so much?
What is it about this genre that appeals to you so much?
Contemporary romance, as a while, has a great breadth and variety to it. I like being able to play with different themes and character types, and still be able to work in my complete addition to pop culture!
What made you want to become an author?
What made you want to become an author?
I've been writing stories for as long as I can remember. I would rewrite the endings of stories that I thought ended badly, and characters would come to me out of nowhere. I love being an author ~ what other job allows you to make stuff up for a living?
How do you come up with character names?
How do you come up with character names?
Sometimes the characters name themselves, but I've been known to crack of the Book O' Baby Names a few times, too.
Do you struggle to come up with book titles? Do they come before, during or after you've written your book?
Do you struggle to come up with book titles? Do they come before, during or after you've written your book?
Titles and short blurbs are so hard for me, and thankfully I've had editors who are brilliant at both!

There are so many! I'm going to go with Tiger Eyes by Judy Blume.

Anything and everything - a song lyric, an overheard conversation, a brilliant, sunshiney day after horrendous rain...it's all inspiring.

Depends on my mood. Lately I've been a sofa writing girl, but we're heading into the summer months, and I can't wait to try out our new swing. I envision lots and lots of writing happening there this summer.

Ooh, good question! I'm going to say....Drew Barrymore because she's not toooo girly, and she seems to be to be very down-to-earth.

I'm just finishing up the first book in a brand new series - the books will be out with Harlequin Superromance starting later this year...and they're all set in a small lake town in Missouri. And I'm also finishing up the third Billionaire Cowboys book, What the Gambler Risks, which will be out in September.

Once upon a time, Kristina Knight spent her days running from car crash to fire to meetings with local police--no, she wasn't a troublemaker, she was a journalist. Her career took her all over the United States, writing about everything from a serial killer's capture to the National Finals Rodeo. Along the way, she found her very own Knight in Shining Cowboy Boots and an abiding love for romance novels. And just like the characters from her favorite books, she's living her own happily ever after.
Kristina writes sassy contemporary romance novels; her books have appeared on Kindle Best Seller Lists. She loves hearing from readers, so drop her a line! Website
