Claimed is about an Incubus who must find a crystal in order not to become a full demon. Too bad it’s around his stubborn assistant’s neck during their archeological dig.
What inspired you to write it?
The idea of an Incubus not wanting to become a demon and the background of archeology appealed to me since I love history and paranormal/magical things.
If it was made into a movie, who would you like to play the main characters?
I would like Kellan Lutz or a blond Christian Jorgensen as Damon Cubins
And Candice Huffine as Renee Maxwell
Is it part of a series or is it a stand-alone novel?
This is book one of a series. Fallen, book two is with the publisher, and I’m revising Lyric book 2.5 and Tainted book 3.
Where is the novel set and why did you choose to set it there?
The majority of the book is set in Turkey. There are so many ancient and fascinating things in that country that only a fraction of them are in the story.
What is it about this genre that appeals to you so much?
With paranormal romance, the characters and their personal issues are so vast. I’ve always liked fantasy/ paranormal stories growing up and still love them.
What made you want to become an author?
I wanted to be able to share my stories with people. For a long time, only close friends knew my characters and stories. Then I decided to try and see if I could write a novel. I’d written poetry for years.
How do you come up with character names?
Sometimes they just come to me. Other times I look online or in a baby book until a name jumps out at me.
Do you struggle to come up with book titles? Do they come before, during or after you've written your book?
Gosh, yes. Sometimes I won’t have a title for several books in a series. Claimed came when I was about three-fourths done with the book. The Garnet Dagger and it’s series title Legends of Oblivion didn’t come until after I’d written all four books in the series.
Name one of your all-time favourite books?
How many pages do I have? LOL
I love PC Cast’ House of Night series, anything by Anne Bishop

, and many many more.Who, or what, inspires you?
I’m a pantser, so when I write, I’m discovering the story as I go. I know the general idea and the ending (roughly), but the journey there is the most amazing part. When the characters take over or they do something completely unexpected.
Where is your favourite place to write?
Since I have three kids: two under the age of 7 at home, my favorite place to write is when they are asleep and I have time to write before I fall asleep at the keyboard.
What is your favourite movie that was based on a book?
Since most movies don’t do a book justice, the closest ones are Outlander
– which is a TV series. And the Harry Potter
movies. Though I did love the Lord of the Rings
’ movies, they left a lot out that was in the books.Tell us a random fact about yourself.
I love martial arts. I’ve taken karate and Maui Thai. When my kids are older, I plan on taking classes again—we probably all would as a family.
Who would play you in the movie about your life?
Jenna Dewan Tatum – she has similar coloring to me – and she was great in Witches of East End
which they totally shouldn’t have cancelled.Tell us an interesting fact about where you live.
I live in Houston and there are many cool things about my city. Best is the food. I’ve gone to other cities and states and no one has the variety and good food that we do.
What are your (writing) plans for the future?
My plan is to finish the last book in the Legends of Oblivion series and Viking Fire. Write more in the Claimed series and whatever other stories pop into mind.

To take ball room dancing. Not to compete, just to be able to dance and not try to lead LOL
Favourite myth / fairytale?
Cinderella
. She went through a lot and never broke. I enjoyed her story so much that the Disney book I owned got worn out. And when my publisher, Crimson Romance, asked for Fairytale retellings, I had to do a Cinderella.Fairy Trouble was created with the idea of what if Cinderella’s fairy godmother was new? And her first time charge, Cindy, didn’t want to go to the ball and she had to go in her place.
Who/What did you want to be when you were a kid?
I wanted to be a teacher when I was little. Never thought to be an author until I was in my thirties.
